The New Fat Loss Revolution?

The invention of the iphone and ipad, have bought you many innovative apps to help you with a number of different daily activities including keep track of your weight loss.

From checking your online banking information to complete marathon training programs, apps have revolutionized the way you think and – more importantly – the way you exercise.

Now, more than ever, people rely heavily on their phones for everything from communication to keeping track of daily lists and needs.

If you search through your available apps, you may find one – or hundreds –of different apps that may help with monitoring your weight loss.

They allow you to enter in your daily food intake, exercise, and weight loss or gain.

Plus, set milestones, goals, and rewards throughout your plan.

Some even go so far to allow you to print off (for your records) a weekly, monthly, or yearly detailed reports on the progress you made throughout your weight loss attempt.

For some, this method of keeping track may provide a better platform for program adherence and success.

Mobile Apps and Weight Loss

Smartphones are a device of the future – and for the future of weight loss.

App creators took the opportunity to create mobile apps to generally make life easier.

From games, to calculators the face of mobile apps has changed – to keep up with the fast-paced production of new, even better smartphones.

Now, people are using these apps in order to have their own “personal” weight loss coach –all with paying a fraction of the cost.

Researchers wanted to see if this new trend was as effective at increasing weight loss, program adherence, and overall success.

What they found is pretty amazing!

On average, people using the mobile app were able to lose MORE WEIGHT than people who attended biweekly weight loss group sessions.

And, they found that the mobile weight loss group was more likely to have lost FIVE PERCENT or more of their baseline weight!

Plus, this was seen throughout the whole study at different measurement points (baseline, three, six, nine, and 12 months).

Their research concluded:

“The addition of a personal digital assistant and telephone coaching can enhance short-term weight loss in combination with an existing system of care.  Mobile connective technology holds promise as a scalable mechanism for changing the effect of physician-directed weight-loss treatment.”

Although this approach may not work for everyone, this study shows that some people may increase their weight loss results with the addition of a mobile
application on their smartphone device!

Apps Are Changing Lives

Mobile apps may be a great way to start your weight loss journey.

You can find an app for everything, including tracking calories, exercise, eating times/patterns, and your weight loss goals.

Now – more than ever – people are turning to apps to make their lives a little bit easier or to just have some fun.

But now apps may be an effective way to keep you on track when it comes to your own weight loss goals!
