In fact, leptin directly communicates with your brain, letting it know when you are full.

Not only does leptin tell your brain that you are full, but it also tells your brain when you need to eat, store more fat, and repair your cells.

Boost Leptin
So what is leptin in the first place?
Leptin is a hormone that is produced and released from your fat cells.
When leptin is released into your bloodstream, it travels to your brain, and tells your brain how much stored “energy” you have.
Meaning how much fat is stored in your fat cells.
Now, when your fat cells are empty, a signal is sent to your brain, telling your brain you need more energy and that you NEED to eat.
But once your fat cells are full again, leptin is produced and the process continues.
However, sometimes you are exposed to TOO MUCH leptin for a longer than normal period of time, mostly due to too much sugar or processed foods (which are commonly found in Western diets).
This could then result in your body becoming RESISTANT to leptin.
Causing you to eat MORE and MORE...
And leading to MORE WEIGHT GAIN!
Prevent Leptin Resistance
So what are the two best ways to boost leptin:
Diet and exercise, of course!
By altering your diet to include more healthy fats (such as omega-3 fatty acids)…
LESS sugar…
LESS processed foods…
And MORE protein!
You then may be able to decrease your resistance to leptin, which could BOOST your weight loss!
By decreasing your sugar intake, you could also reduce your inflammation levels, therefore potentially reducing your chronic disease risk.
Exercise has also been shown to reduce your resistance to leptin.
When you exercise you BURN more calories, which could also lead to weight loss.
Plus, a new study shows that exercise may be able to increase the molecule Irisin, which could potentially turn white fat cells into calorie burning BROWN FAT CELLS!
This could provide a means for boosting weight loss, without unnecessary medications and dangerous weight loss surgery,
Lose More Weight with Diet and Exercise
In order for you to TURN ON your body to using leptin the RIGHT way, you need to watch the amount of sugar in your diet and the amount of processed foods that you eat.
Plus, if you throw in exercise, you may INCREASE your leptin levels, which could further BOOST your weight loss.
So for your body’s sake, eat a diet rich in whole foods, plenty of good fats (yes, even saturated fats!), and get plenty of exercise.
