Four Tips To Start Your New Year
It’s the start of a brand new year, and that can only mean one thing…
Yes, that’s right, New Year resolution time!
Now, before you set out to change yourself this New Year, please keep these four tips in mind:
Four Tips for the New Year
First, did you know that over half of people in this country – and possibly – the world, will make a New Year Resolution to change one (or many) parts of their life?
But did you know that less than 10 percent of those same people will actually accomplish the goals they set out for themselves?
It’s true, and very scary to think!
Now, there are many things that can disrupt your ability to accomplish your goals.
But if you utilize these FOUR tips, then you may find yourself in the upper 10 percent, as opposed to the rest of the people!
Four Tips for a Successful New Year
You Have to BELIEVE…
First off, you need to believe that you can do it!
Nothing shuts down New Year’s progress like not believing in the goals you set out, and your desire and drive to accomplish them!
If you don’t think you can accomplish the goals, then start over from scratch and find goals that you know you can accomplish.
Also, you need to pat yourself on the back more often!
If you accomplish even a small portion of your goal, then congratulate yourself and push forward.
The positive momentum that you will gain from a small accomplishment, will go a long way to helping you stay focused and possibly accomplish your overall goals.
Honesty is the Best Medicine…
Similar to believing in yourself, you also have to be honest with yourself.
For example, if you set a goal of losing 50 pounds, but deep inside you know that you won’t accomplish it, then don’t set a goal like that.
Design and set your goals – keeping in mind time requirements, finances, drive, desire, and motivation – according to what you know you can accomplish and not what you THINK you can accomplish!
This will keep you motivated, driven, and accountable to the goals that you set and – when you accomplish them – the feeling of success you will have immediately after will set the stage for future successes!
NEVER Give Up (it’s pretty easy to do)…
You may be totally into your goals when you set them…
Maybe all the way through January, or even a part of February…
But then, something happens.
Maybe it’s a new commitment at work, at home, or at school.
Or maybe you just let too many things get in the way of you reaching your goals.
Whatever the reason, you should NEVER give up when it comes to changing your life.
If you need to, reorganize your goals! Take a close look at them when you start to feel your motivation drag. Rearrange, reorganize, or change them in order to help you get that desire back.
Losing focus may be the NUMBER ONE issue people have when they set out goals for the New Year!
Don’t be another statistic!
Don’t Let Money Get in the Way…
Money issues seem to always pop up – and at the worst time usually!
But don’t let it distract you from the goals you have set for yourself.
For example, if you want to lose weight – which may mean a gym membership, or a weight loss plan, or expensive nutritional advice – it may be an easy way to dissuade you from reaching your weight loss goal.
But get creative! Ask friends who have lost weight for advice that worked for them…
Consult the internet for weight loss tips (there are millions)…
And look for bodyweight exercise programs that may be less expensive than joining a fancy gym!
All these options are less expensive and may go a long way in helping you to lose weight and keep it off.
Use Them, Implement Them, and Stay FOCUSED
If you’re serious about your goals this New Year, then these FOUR tips are for you!
Before you set your goals, sit and look back on your year. Did you accomplish everything you wanted to?
In the past 12 months, were you able to be as productive as you wanted?
Once you answer these questions – with the four tips up top – then you can carefully plan out your goals in order to make them more manageable, and much more likely to be accomplished!
Here’s to a successful New Year where all your weight loss, financial, or job goals you set for yourself could be easily accomplished – now that you have a plan in place
