4 Ways To Stick To Your Resolutions In 2025

This is the time of year when everyone is making their New Year’s resolutions.

You know the promises that you make to yourself to change and make THIS year the best year ever – then grow from your experience every year after.

No matter if it’s related to weight loss, better eating habits, money goals, or family goals, making and sticking with New Year’s resolutions can be very tough.

So today, we want to share with your 4 ways to help you stick to your resolutions for a happier, healthier lifestyle.

4 Resolution Tips

The number one resolution that most people shoot for is to lose weight and develop better lifestyle habits.

However, the only problem is that the goals may be too large – sometimes unattainable – which could lead to failure to reach your set goals.

If you have a plan – one that’s smart and well thought out – then chances of you reaching your goals may greatly increase!

Just for you, here are 4 tips to make sure your (fat loss and healthier lifestyle) New Year’s Resolutions stick – this year!

1. The Goals Should Be YOURS

Everyone has a lot of EXTERNAL influence – meaning there are people in your life – maybe not your close family - that want you to be someone or something that you currently aren’t.

It could be more financially secure, it could be a few pounds lighter, or it could simply that they want you to be more successful.

And this may lead you to choose goals that are based on what others want from you.

But in order for your resolutions to stick, you need to OWN your goals.

Make them yours…

Decide what change YOU want to make this year, and design the appropriate action plan to make that happen.

That way – when the goals are YOURS – the chances of your being successful in sticking with them – or completing them – go up dramatically!

So make the goals you set for 2024 YOUR goals!

2. Wake Up Earlier

Granted your bed may be warm and comfy in the morning, but this is the best time to get things done to help accomplish your goals!

Studies show that a person may have more motivation and more drive first thing in the morning.

So if you’re goal is to lose weight or start an exercise program, then make the sacrifice, set your clock for 30 to 45 minutes earlier, and get yourself out of bed.

Getting it done early may also give you a sense of accomplishment – since you actually completed it – which could further strengthen your motivation, desire, and drive to make positive changes and help reach your goals.

3. Start With Small and Attainable Goals

When you set out on your journey to accomplish your New Year’s resolutions, you should have a big picture of what you what to
accomplish.

This is sometimes called your long-term goals or long-term plan.

Now, in order for you to accomplish these goals, you need to have smaller, attainable goals that help you work towards your long-term goal.

For example, if your goal is to lose a certain amount of weight this year, then you would want to make sure that you are losing at least a couple pounds per week in order to make that happen.

You see, when you set small goals each week – and you successfully accomplish them – then chances are your motivation will increase because you actually successfully reached your goal.

So start small, and work towards completing the larger things – this will help you feel like you’re climbing a small ant hill - as opposed to a mountain - on your way to completing your long term goals!

4. Recruit Others

If you truly want to reach your goals, then you should recruit one or two people who have similar goals.

Not only will this help you stay motivated, but you will be with likeminded people who are after the same things you are.

With others, you can build a buddy-type system, where you are able to lean on others in the group for motivation, advice, or just support along the way.

Chances are, if you’re in a group of people looking for the same things you are, then you may be more willing to put in a solid effort and possibly reach your goal.

Start The New Year Off Right

If you’re looking to start your New Year’s resolutions off right, then this is the place to start.

These FOUR tips should help you navigate through the right plan, in order to reach all your health, fat loss, or other goals that you may have in mind for 2024!
