They were looking to see if the introduction of this probiotic could alter energy expenditure, glucose tolerance, and inflammatory markers in the body.

The control group, as expected, saw very little changes.
But the lactobacillus group saw some amazing results!
The researchers noticed a decrease in the inflammatory molecule SAP as well as better utilization of carbohydrates for energy use.
This results in lower levels of low-grade inflammation, increased energy expenditure, and improvements in glucose tolerances.
From their work, they concluded: “Our results demonstrate that, in addition to the inhibition of dietary TAG absorption reported previously, the intake of probiotic LG2055 enhanced energy expenditure via carbohydrate oxidation, improved glucose tolerance and attenuated inflammation, suggesting multiple additive and/or synergistic actions underlying the anti-obesity effects exerted by LG2055.
