The Three Foods You Should AVOID
As previously mentioned, there are a lot of things that can get you off track in your quest for a leaner, toner, and sexier body.
But, choosing the right foods seems to befuddle everyone!
That’s why we have come up with a very short list of THREE foods you should AVOID this New Year if you want to lose fat and get healthier.
Now, some of these foods may be your favorite and be staples in your diet. But, whatever you do, try to AVOID – if not – limit your intake of these foods.
Trust me, your body – and the whiplash from the head turns you will get – will definitely be worth it:
1. Processed Meats (think hot dogs, bologna, etc.)
These may be staples at your BBQs, on the weekends, or during the BIG games.
But, these little meat sticks are completely awful for your health. Why?
Well, for starters, they contain nitrites and nitrates, which have been linked to cancer and other adverse health conditions.
Foods like hot dogs and sausages may also increase your risk for diabetes, strokes, or even having a heart attack.
What to have instead: opt for lean, grass-fed meat or wild-caught fish and poultry. These foods contain healthy fats, lean proteins, and nutrients that keep you healthy and ABOVE the ground.
2. Microwave Popcorn
Have you ever had a movie night with your special someone and popped a bag of this in the microwave?
If you have, then you’re adding serious calories to your waistline – and more importantly – adding excessive risk to your health.
The reason: microwave popcorn contains trans-fats and other dangerous chemicals that cause cancer and other dangerous health issues.
Not to mention, all those extra calories from the butter only add to your ever-expanding waistline.
What to eat instead: if you’re craving popcorn for your late night movie, try air popping your kernels, or even using a skillet with a healthy fat. Also, skip the butter and add some exotic spices to spruce up your date night.
3. Commercial Muffins
There is nothing worse for your hips, butt, or thighs than a muffin from your local coffee house or fast food establishment.
They are loaded with calories, trans-fats, FAT, sugar, and plenty of processed and artificial ingredients.
Not only do they add excess calories and fat to your day, but they cause excess fat gain – especially if you eat them more than ONCE a week.
What to eat instead: You should be eating an omelet made from ONE whole egg and a few egg whites. Pair this with some fruit or a bowl of piping hot steel-cut oats, and you have a fat-burning breakfast in minutes. Although not as glamorous as a muffin, this breakfast will make you glamorous this summer.
Start Your New Year on the Right Foot
Although most people set a goal of losing fat in the New Year, there are many that don’t reach their goal.
But, you’re going to make this New Year different.
And, by avoiding these THREE foods, you can get your fat loss journey started off on the right foot.
