Three Potent Fat KILLERS
By Kevin DiDonato MS, CSCS, CES
During the hot summer months, very few people want to spend their time in the kitchen.
Most of the time, you want something easy to prepare, tasty, and above all, something that will boost your fat loss or improve your performance.
People always look for foods that are packed with nutrition – meaning they are filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants – in order to keep them healthy and fit.
And, most of the time, these foods are low in calories, packed with belly fat-busting fiber, and have fast acting nutrients that your body will use right away.
Today, we have provided you with a list of some power-packed foods that not only will boost your performance when working out, but may also cause you to shed a pound or two.
Three Power-Packed Foods
These power-packed, fat-fighting foods are all low in calories, but have a heaping pile of nutrition associated with them.
Most foods that you would look for will contain vitamins (check), minerals (check), low in fat (check), all designed to keep you healthy, fit, and trim all summer long.
Now, these foods will accomplish all that and MORE!
So grab a pen, some paper, and a seat, and be prepared to make a list of the RIGHT foods you should be getting this summer for added fat loss and an extra boost in performance.
1. Arugula
This bitter – yet refreshingly crisp – leafy green is the first to top the list.
With a slight peppery taste to it, arugula may be a perfect addition to any salad or as a topping for your favorite burger or sandwich.
Arugula spares you the extra calories (only 4 calories per cup, good for slashing your belly fat), but packs a powerful punch in the vitamin K arena.
You get a whopping 28 percent of your daily recommended values for vitamin K in just ONE cup of arugula.
Vitamin K is needed in order to form clots in your blood (especially when you have a cut). It also has been shown to strengthen your bones, giving it one more feather in its proverbial cap.
2. Peaches
Peaches – one of the top fruits of the south – are a perfect fruit for beating down the summer heat.
You can grill them, dice them, or just plain eat them from the branch, without worrying too much about your waistline.
One medium peach is only 60 calories and is packed with vitamin C and beta carotene, both powerful nutrients for protecting your heart.
And, it has TWO grams of belly fat-busting fiber, making it a fruit that may fill you up and leave you satisfied for a few hours before lunch or dinner.
3. Sour (or tart) Cherries
Tart cherries have been used by runners for many years due this tiny fruit's ability to dull pain and reduce inflammation.
Besides the ability to dull pain, tart cherries are filled with other vitamins and minerals that are perfect for fighting off infections, preventing colds, and other ailments that may come around.
Be sure to eat a cup of cherries – instead of tart cherry juice – to shave half the calories and add a bit more fiber to your day.
Three Foods You Need To Be Eating
