Crippling Joint Pain? These 5 Ways Will Get You Back To What You Love
It’s time to face reality…
Your joints take a beating—every single day!
From carrying your weight around to constantly being on the go, your hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, and every other joint are constantly under pressure.
Even though your joints are designed to withstand the pressure…
…sometimes they just can’t handle everything that is thrown its way!
And this constant wear and tear may lead to creaking…stiffness…swelling…and PAIN (called arthralgia)!
So what can you do about this pain?
5 Natural Ways to Relieve Joint Pain
Face it, your joints have a tough task keeping you upright, helping you to move, and supporting your weight along the way.
And areas like your hips, knees, and ankles bear the brunt of the work, which is why they are often in pain, stiff, or just “don’t feel right.”
And even though there could be many different reasons why you’re in pain (trauma, injury, fracture, wound, disease, strains, sprains, tendonitis, and bursitis), it may all boil down to one simple condition that’s wrecking your body:
Arthritis!
Now, even though there are many different factors that could lead to the pain you’re currently experiencing, that’s not what you came for…
You didn’t come here to find out WHAT caused the pain…
You came here to find out how to ALLEVIATE the pain and PREVENT it from happening in the future!
Am I right?
Well, thankfully, we have talked with some of the experts, and here are the top ways they advise on alleviating joint pain—once and for all:
1. Ice Therapy
One of the hallmarks of joint pain happens to be inflammation. And there is no better way to stop inflammation then with ice therapy—also known as cryotherapy.
How does it work?
Basically ice stops the blood flow to the joint, which reduce the amount of 1) inflammation in the joint and 2) the amount of swelling in the surrounding tissue.
When you start to feel pain in your joints, the best advice is to ice the joint every hour for 15 minute for the entire day.
The following day, reduce the ice time to only six to eight hours (again keeping the icing time to only 15 minutes).
Remember to wrap the ice in a towel to prevent ice burn or skin damage to the cold of the ice.
2. Hydrotherapy
Just like ice therapy, hydrotherapy is also an effective ways to reduce joint pain.
Warm water, like found in a hot tub, your own bathtub, or even a therapy pool, may reduce tension and stress in your joints.
And reducing tension and stress in your joints could also ease pain and stiffness that often accompanies joint pain and damage.
If you want to increase the effectiveness of the water, try massaging your joints (always applying pressure towards the heart) in order to bring nourishing blood flow to your joints to aid in the healing process.
3. Exercise
One of the best ways to alleviate pain your joints is to strengthen the muscles that surround your joints.
However, any old exercise will not do!
You must choose exercise that allows you to move through your natural range of motion and through the pain in your joints.
You want to avoid any exercise that causes pain and/or find alternative exercises that will allow for both strengthening and flexibility without causing further pain or damage to your joints.
Although there are many different exercises you could do, consult a trained professional in order to choose the right program and exercises for you.
Remember, exercise and range of motion exercises could strengthen the muscles that surround your, which could alleviate pain, build flexibility, and reduce stiffness often associated with joint pain.
4. Rest
One of the simplest—and most effective ways—to alleviate joint pain is the REST (not that everyone has the time for that).
Resting allows your joints to rest, which could significantly reduce joint pain, stiffness, and tenderness.
Resting may also allow your body to go to work repairing and rejuvenating the damaged tissues that could be adding to your joint pain.
Including “rest’ days in your training program will also allow your body to adapt to the exercise demands, therefore reducing the potential for joint pain immediately afterwards (and beyond).
5. Natural Herbal Remedies
Over the course of thousands of year, Eastern medicine has relied on many different herbs and alternative treatment options for
alleviating joint pain (and numerous other ailments).
These herbs could alleviate joint pain and stiffness that could be associated with many different areas of your body.
Now, taken alone, many of the herbs may be less effective. However, combining them together could go a lot further to reducing joint pain and inflammation, while providing the right nutrients needed to nourish the surrounding tissues that may also need attention.
