Three Ways To REPAIR Sick Fat Cells

By Kevin DiDonato MS, CES--Level 1 Certified Precision Nutrition and Certified Personal Trainer

Are you a little bit overweight?

Do you carry your fat around your midsection, hips, butt, or thighs?

Do you know how DANGEROUS being overweight can be for your health?

Some people understand the basics of how being overweight can negatively impact their health.

But for most people – and that includes a great number of people – they may underestimate the impact that their weight may have on their bodies.

Sick Fat Cells

When inflammation is present in your body - or more importantly - your fat cells, this may cause them to become damaged and inflamed.

And this may cause them to lose their function - take on and release fatty acids for energy - leaving them bloated, inflamed, and unable to function normally.

Besides fat cells losing their ability to release fatty acids for energy, your fat cells also lose their ability to control the powerful fat loss hormones, adiponectin and leptin.

This may slow your metabolism, therefore preventing your body from shedding any extra fat it has stored.

Here are some pretty simple guidelines for making your fat cells healthy again:

1. Limit Your Sugar Intake

One way that puts on weight – and fast – is by consuming too many calories from white flours, sugars, and processed foods.

Sugar, with the help of insulin, may contribute to increased fat storage.

By reducing – or eliminating – your intake of added sugars, processed foods, and white flour, then you may find yourself losing weight and keeping it off!

2. Eat More Healthy Fats

Healthy fats – like omega-3, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fats – have been shown to be beneficial to your health.

Healthy dietary fats are beneficial to weight loss, cellular health, and even fertility.

By limiting your intake of fat, you may be doing yourself a great disservice when it comes to losing weight and maintaining your weight loss.

3. Exercise and Watch What You Eat

In order to burn calories, you need to watch what you eat and exercise in order to burn more calories than you are taking in!

This may create a negative calorie balance, which could help you lose weight.

However, be smart when it comes to cutting your calories.  Too few calories may lead to your body holding on to fat (starvation) and breaking down your lean muscle tissue.

Keep a healthy caloric intake by either eating five to six small meals (200 to 400 calories each), or eating three larger meals (500 to 750 calories) to ensure that you are eating the right amount of nutrients and getting the appropriate caloric intake to keep your body burning fat!

Also, you need to exercise.  As most of you may know, cardiovascular exercise may not be the best way to burn extra fat!

Yes, cardio is effective for beginners, but if you have been exercising for a while, then you should be looking at more metabolic-type exercise – or exercises that may boost your overall calorie burn.

A good example of this would be interval training, sprint training, or bootcamp training.

Each one of these may burn more calories during the workout,  plus it may burn even MORE after the workout is done.

These are three really great tips for boosting your overall calorie burn.  Although I didn’t mention this above, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables (low-fat and low-carb) may be another effective way to burn fat and keep it off.

Along with that, you may have heard weight loss experts talking about the effects of ONE powerful new choice.
