Do You Get 20 g Of This 1 Nutrient Per Day? (good for your heart)

Heart attacks can be very scary – not only for you, but for your family as well.

There is pain…there are the painful memories and shattered families…there is the constant anxiety that surrounds people who have had a heart attack – from the patient to their love ones.

And this is exactly the reason why you need to be proactive with your health.

You see, there are certain things you could be doing right now in order to reduce your risk for having a heart attack.

For example, if you don’t exercise currently, you could start a slow, gradual exercise program designed to improve the health of your heart.

Or, if you’re overweight, then losing some of the belly flab could do wonders for your health.

Now, one of the easiest ways to get started on the right path to better heart health would be to start in the kitchen.

In fact, there is one type of food that should always be in your kitchen…

And they are fiber-rich foods – such as fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain products.

Fiber-rich foods could do a number of great things in your body.

First, it could slow down the digestion and subsequent absorption of food particles, which could lead to better blood sugar control and management.

And - the insoluble form – may travel through your body – undigested, mind you – and accumulate and eventually get rid of nasty things, such as your bad (LDL) cholesterol.

This could lead to better cholesterol levels AND lower LDL cholesterol – both of which could protect your heart health.

And if you have had a heart attack already, then eating a fiber-rich diet could significantly decrease your risk for death, according to the results of a new study.

According to the study, people who increased their fiber intake, after having a heart attack, had a lower risk for all-cause mortality.

Further results showed that cereal fiber showed to be the best for preventing all-cause mortality than other fiber sources.

The study concluded: “In this prospective study of patients who survived MI, a greater intake of dietary fiber after MI, especially cereal fiber, was inversely associated with all cause mortality. In addition, increasing consumption of fiber from before to after MI was significantly associated with lower all cause and cardiovascular mortality.”

Although fiber is very important for preventing a heart attack and lowering cholesterol, there is one other thing you need to get everyday…
