There are definitely good snacks and bad snacks.
Processed snack cakes, for example, would be a bad snack idea if your goal is to lose fat.
These types of snacks are filled with sugar, processed chemicals, and refined carbs that only spike your blood sugar and encourage fat gain.
Not to mention, processed foods make you HUNGRY, because they lack the vital nutrients your body needs to quell your appetite.
Now, there is a growing shift happening. And, it’s a great shift.
Researchers and others hoping to slow the rise in obesity, are now looking at different snack options that keep you feeling full to encourage greater fat loss.
This helps you eat less at other meals, and prevents excessive calorie intake from occurring throughout the day.
What would be a good example of a healthy snack?
Almonds, peanuts, and other high-fiber foods should be included in your mid-morning or mid-afternoon snacking.
These snacks boost the hormone responsible for satisfaction – otherwise known as satiety – which could prevent you from eating too much at future meals.
Foods, like fruits, vegetables, sprouted-grain breads, and others, are other examples of fiber-rich foods that also contain other nutrients that speed up fat loss.
So including these foods into your snacking would be ideal if you want to lose fat, or even maintain the fat loss you already have achieved.
Burn More Fat with Snacking
Although many people feel that snacking is unnecessary when trying to lose weight, a new shift in thinking is questioning this very belief.
Snacking on high-fiber foods, nuts, and almonds may boost overall meal satisfaction, therefore preventing excessive food intake at other meals.
Avoiding processed foods, snack cakes, and other nutrient-dense but calorie-laden snacks may also help you lose weight and fat by eliminating extra sugar, refined carbs, and trans-fats.
Consuming less calories throughout the day, should translate into greater fat loss or weight loss results.
