Are You At Risk For Pre-Mature Death? (How to Know)
Once again, being overweight or obese has been linked to all-cause mortality.
Meaning that the more weight you are carrying, the more likely you may be to die at an earlier age.
And this may be by any of the different diseases out there, such as heart disease, cancer, complications from diabetes, and any other means for premature death.
Although differing degrees or grades of obesity were associated with a significant increase in death, being overweight, although lower, was still associated with premature death.

You know that being overweight – or even obese – is extremely bad for your health.
And, you know how you feel when you have a few extra pounds wrapped around your waist, hips, butt, or thighs.
You know what I’m talking about:
Your energy levels may be drained…
You joints scream at you when you run, walk fast, or climb stairs…
It may be hard to bend over to simply tie your shoes…
Or you look in the mirror and your self-esteem takes a hit because of all the extra padding you see.
You know what? You’re not alone!

There have been many studies linking being overweight or obese to a shortened life, due to a number of different health complications.
And, the longer you carry around your weight, the higher your risk becomes.
Here are some scary statistics just published looking at 2.88 million people and 141 different studies.
When they compared their results to normal weight individuals (classified as BMI less than 25), they showed:
• People classified in grades 2 and 3 for obesity (> 35 BMI) were associated with significantly higher all-cause mortality
• Grade 1 obesity (30 - <35 BMI) was not associated with higher all-cause mortality
• And those who were overweight (25 - <30 BMI) was associated with lower all-cause mortality
Now, what information should you get from these results?
The lower your overall BMI – or the less weight you carry – may be associated with a lower risk for premature death.
What You Can Do
Now, if you‘re overweight, the best way to reduce your risk is to lose weight.
Not only could it reduce your risk for premature death from chronic diseases, but it also may improve your confidence, self-esteem, reduce your joint pain, and even lower your cholesterol and blood pressure measurements.
Here are three things you should be doing when trying to lose weight:
1. Eat a Healthy Diet
Your diet plays a very large role in your ability to lose weight.
You should focus on eliminating processed, white flours and sugars, and focus on including fruits, vegetables, lean wild-caught or grass-fed proteins, and whole-grain products such as sprouted grain breads, sweet potatoes, and legumes.
Try to eat five to six small meals throughout the day (or three larger meals) in order to keep your metabolism elevated and your blood sugar normalized.
Always eat breakfast!
Cut down on diet soda, sugar-sweetened beverages, and alcohol, and include plenty of WATER!
2. Exercise
Exercising is another way to eliminate calories from your diet and boost your overall fat and weight loss.
You should focus on activities that get you moving (if you’re a beginner) or activities like interval training that boost your overall calorie burn and keeps your heart rate elevated.
This may boost your fat loss, plus preserve your lean muscle mass – or your metabolism-boosting muscle – which could give you a lean, toned, and trimmed look.
3. Enlist Support
Nothing helps your weight loss journey than knowing you’re not alone!
Enlisting the help and support of other people looking to lose weight, hiring a personal trainer, or working out with your family and friends, may enable you to stick with your goals longer!
Or you can join a transformation contest or group in order to gain useful insight into losing weight while working in a group atmosphere.
Whatever way you do it, losing weight will not only make you feel better about yourself, but it may also reduce your risk for premature death – just by dropping a few pounds.
