Thanksgiving is here!
Today is a day where people around the country take the time to give thanks, and celebrate with friends and family.
But, for those of you who are serious about your fat loss, Thanksgiving may strike FEAR all through your core...
The WORST Side Dishes
There are plenty of great foods you can have at Thanksgiving.
For example, spinach makes a great substitute for lettuce (packs MORE of a nutritional punch), and roasted potatoes are a great way to avoid the pitfalls of creamy mashed potatoes.
But, if you’re like most people, then you may throw caution to the wind and load your plate with turkey and all the fixings.
Not that this will DESTROY your fat loss per se, but it sure will put a cramp in it!
However, you’re smart and you already know how to get back on the fat loss wagon AFTER Thanksgiving is over.
But, what about DURING Thanksgiving? What foods can you eat to ensure your fat loss will stay on track?
Well, for starters, you should have LESS of these (and more of the others)…
AVOID: Mixed Nuts
Although nuts in general are great for you, people tend to overdo them at holiday gatherings.
This may lead to excess calories (around 442 per half cup), which could add to your ever expanding waistline.
Eat This Instead: Shrimp
Shrimp is a great low-calorie alternative that is packed with protein, powerful antioxidants, and essential fats your body needs to keep your waist skinny this holiday season.
AVOID: Green Bean Casserole
This side dish is common at many holiday gatherings. But, this side dish may be heavy on the cream, soup bases, and sodium, which could easily add to your hips, butt, and thighs.
At around 375 calories per cup, this is one side dish that should be avoided if you want to burn fat instead of storing it.
Eat This Instead: Garlic and Cider Vinegar Braised Brussels Sprouts
Brussels sprouts are a great low-calorie, vitamin and mineral-packed vegetable that may lower inflammation, which could boost your fat loss.
Plus, special compounds found in vinegar and garlic may also enhance your ability to burn fat.
AVOID: Candied Yams
Yams, otherwise known as sweet potatoes, are a great source of vitamins and minerals that may add to your fat loss.
However, the addition of maple syrup, marshmallows, or heavy sauces may spike the calorie content (roughly 587 calories per cup) of this side dish.
Eat This Instead: Roasted Sweet Potatoes
As previously mentioned, sweet potatoes are a great source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, making it ideal for boosting your fat loss.
And roasting them saves you around 475 calories, making it an ideal low-calorie side.
The Easy Way to Burn Fat This Thanksgiving
The holidays are a time when people tend to fall off the fat loss bandwagon and ride the tide to the New Year.
Starting with Thanksgiving, people tend to overdo the snacks, high-calorie side dishes, and alcoholic beverages.
And this could lead to greater fat gain!
But, if you substitute some of your favorite side dishes with the sides recommended above, then you may find yourself with the trim, tone, and lean body that others may drool over.
