3 Factors Preventing You From Getting A Bikini Body
By Kevin DiDonato MS, CES
Here you are, it’s the end of July and summer is just about over.
Have you been enjoying yourself? If you haven’t, why not?
Is it because you’re not feeling it this year? You’re not happy with how your body looks?
Or are you starting on your 2017 summer body?
Whatever the reason, it’s time to get outside and start enjoying yourself.
And if you’re like many, the thought of laying on the beach…frolicking in the water…or spending some time at the last has probably crossed your mind on more than one occasion.
Now, if you’re like most people, you are going to spend the last few weeks of summer trying to get your summer body ready.
Right?
Well, I have news for you: Some of the things you may be doing to get bikini ready, are by far the worst things you could be doing.
Here are a few of the WORST ways to get bikini ready in a short amount of time:
1. You Go on a Crash Diet
One of the WORST things you can do is go on a crash diet. But many people use crash diets as a way to lose weight fast—especially if you’re looking to go on a trip or spend lots of time at the beach.
But crash diets may not do what you’re hoping it will do.
In fact, most people on crash diets lose a few pounds, but end up feeling worse than they did when they started.
The reason? On a crash diet you’re starving your body of the nutrition it needs to function, stay health, and yes, lose weight.
So, if you’re thinking about starting a crash diet—don’t! Make some simple switches (veggies for carbs) and you may start to feel lighter and have less bloat.
Plus, you could see changes on the scale pretty quickly.
2. Overdoing Cardio
If you’re looking to lose weight, doing straight cardio is NOT the answer.
Cardio, in general, is beneficial to losing weight and staying health. However, doing JUST CARDIO may break down your lean muscles mass.
This could lead to accumulation of body fat, which could leave you looking puffy.
The best advice is to switch up your routine by doing LESS cardio, more strength training, and sprinkling in bouts of HIIT training.
This could help preserve your lean muscle mass, therefore keeping your body looking tone and fit instead of saggy and flabby.
3. Focus on the WRONG Exercise
There are exercises you can do to lose body fat and build lean muscle mass..
But, as often as you see it, doing single joint isolation exercises is not it. Yes, you will build a muscle, don’t get me wrong, but to get an advantage, you should do more compound movements, or exercises that target more than one muscle group.
Exercises like the squat, bench press, overhead press, and others are perfect examples of exercises that target more than one muscle group.
This recruits more muscle fiber, therefore creating a much bigger stimulus on your body.
The result is more calories burned, plus a leaner, toner body in no time at all!
Get Your Bikini Body Ready
If you’re looking to get bikini ready so you can spend the last few weeks of summer at the beach, you should avoid the items from above.
They will not only slow down your weight loss (and muscle development), but they will also lead to frustration as you try to get in the best shape of your life.
But, if you focus on strength training using compound movements and eating the right type of diet could lead to tremendous fat loss results.
This could give you the body of your dreams in just a few week!
