The Good, The Bad, and The UGLY Truth About Fish Oil

If you haven’t noticed, there are more and more people currently taking Fish Oil supplements than ever before.
They are using them because they are chock full of the omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA.
But, is fish oil really the BEST omega-3 fatty acid supplement around?
Many “experts” will tell you that FISH oil is superior to any omega-3 supplement. But, really, is it?
Let’s take a closer look…
The Good
Fish oil, which is harvested from fatty fish, is a great source of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA.
They usually contain ONE gram of more, which provides a lot of the omega-3 fatty acids.
And this is great news for people who want to lower cholesterol, lower inflammation, and improve their health status.
Now, your doctor may have told you to start taking fish oil supplements because they will help improve your health and offset the dangerous effects of things like inflammation, high cholesterol, and even endothelial dysfunction.
But, the truth is…
The BAD
The bad side of Fish oil is this: the delivery system found in Fish oil is lacking. You see, the omega-3 fatty acids are bound by a triglyceride chemical backbone.
This means that once it enters into your body, it needs to be converted into a more usable form in your liver.
And guess what? This conversion process may not be very effective!/
Once fish oil enters into the liver, it needs to be broken down and attached to a phospholipid backbone.
When this happens, you may lose some of the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids by simply excreting it out of your body.
This means that the HUGE dose of omega-3 fatty acids found in your current pill may actually be CUT IN HALF – meaning you may lose HALF of your beneficial fats (if not more).
Now, that’s not even the WORST part…
The UGLY
Since fish oil comes from fatty fish, you may be getting more than meets the eye!
You see, some fish may contain high levels of PCB’s, pollutants, and other harmful toxins (like mercury), which could have adverse reactions in your body.
And this could be translating directly into your Fish oil supplement!
You see, when the oil is harvested from fish, it may be hard for them to strip out all the toxins that are occurring in the fish due to the containments found in its environment.
So not only are you losing precious omega-3 fatty acids, but you may be exposing yourself to harmful toxins in the process.
Plus, Fish oil lacks antioxidants, which could leave it rancid and give you nasty old fish burps!
The Solution
If you want to truly protect your heart with omega-3 fatty acids, then wouldn’t it be smart to use a better, safer, and most effective supplement?
Of course it would be!
And the solution is simple: Krill oil.
