Are You Still FAT? The Top THREE Reasons Why
By Kevin DiDonato MS, CSCS, CES
You work out….
You eat right…
And still, you have excess belly fat that clings to your body.
No matter what you do, you just can’t seem to shake the dreaded fat from your hips, butt, thighs. And your belly!
What is wrong? Why won’t it dissipate?
Well, I could sit here and list hundreds of things that could be wrong…or that you’re doing wrong…
But that wouldn’t help much, would it?
Today, I am going to share the top THREE reasons why your fat just won’t go away:
1. Your Hormones Need an Overhaul
Guys, do you feel tired, low on energy, or just don’t have the desire to do ANYTHING like you once did?
Ladies, are you having a harder time losing the fat around your belly?
Well, then I have news for you: There’s a good chance your hormones are out of whack.
Guys, when your testosterone levels are low (from poor diet and lack of exercise), you may find you have a little more belly fat or man boobs or you may not have the strength or the energy to hit the gym with vigor.
And ladies, if you have too much testosterone, and not enough estrogen to balance it out, you may find it that much harder to lose your post-baby belly.
But I have good news…
If you change the way you eat – and speak with a doctor – you may better balance out your hormones, which could do wonders for stripping away your extra layer of belly fat.
2. You Skip Out on the F-A-T
Are you worried if you eat too much fat that you will, well, get FAT?
Well guess what? It’s not the fat that is making you fat – it’s the excess sugar and refined carbs that you’re eating!
Healthy fats, like the ones found in olive oil, avocado, coconut oil/milk, and Krill Oil, have been shown to boost your meal satisfaction.
This could lead to a lot less calories consumed (thank goodness), which could not only translate positively on the scale, but also in how your body looks and feels (less belly fat)!
And the research may prove it! One study compared the weight loss of men and women who ate either healthy fats or low-fat foods.
Guess what? The healthy fat group lost 11 pounds, while the low-fat group only lost SIX pounds!
So, steer clear of the fat-free, low-fat products, as they are missing the one nutrient you need to feel full and satisfied – plus shed some fat in the process.
3. You're Stressed Out (and tired)
Is there a direct correlation to you being overweight, losing sleep, and being stressed out?
Of course there is! Sleeping less than the recommended EIGHT hours could lead to the development of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease.
Plus, studies show sleep loss may increase hunger hormones in your body, which make you crave higher calorie, nutrient poor foods, like sweets and desserts.
And when you’re stressed out (goes hand in hand with sleep loss), you may have higher cortisol levels, which could make it harder for your body to burn fat.
The best advice to calm your nerves and sleep more is to do deep breathing exercises, meditation, or even exercise (not too
close to bedtime).
This could lower your stress and help you drift away to sleep in no time at all! And THAT, my friends, could be a recipe for a flat belly.
Take Home Message
No one likes to be fat. Everyone is trying to get back to the shape they were in as teenagers or young adults because it makes them feel better about themselves.
Plus, it reduces the risk for chronic diseases and an early death.
However, there is an issue: If you eat right and exercise, you still may have a hard time losing your fat.
Why?
Well, there are many reasons why, but the three above are probably the biggest ones.
If you want to lose the fat – and get the lean, trim, sexy body you’ve been dreaming of – then you need to fix the three issues above.
By eliminating these three common issues, you may finally have the body of your dreams.
