Can These "Bad" Foods Burn Belly Fat? (surprising)
By Kevin DiDonato MS, CES
There are so called “good” foods out there…
…and there are so called “bad” foods out there.
The good ones will help you shrink a few sizes…build muscle…and prevent the development of many different chronic diseases.
The bad ones, however, will cause weight gain, heart disease, cancer, diabetes…and on and on.
Well, I have some news for you...
Some of the “bad” foods that have gotten such a bad reputation may actually be some of the BEST foods for your health—and weight loss goals.
Take a look!
Bad Foods Gone Good
Don’t get me wrong…
There are still plenty of bad foods out there that will cause your waistline to expand…your blood sugar to climb out of control…and put you on the fast-track to an early death.
Those foods are mainly heavily processed and refined…contain boatloads of sugar…and control plenty of trans-fats and hefty doses of sodium.
Those are the foods that you want to AVOID at all costs!
Now, the following foods aren’t those kinds. In fact, the short list of foods found below may increase your fat loss and could even improve your overall health.
What foods made the cut?
1. Whole Milk
There are many people who drink low-fat—or even skim milk—in order to cut down on calories and improve their health and fat loss.
However, they would be missing out on some awesome benefits! Studies show that people who drink whole milk may weigh less…have less weight gain…and have a much lower risk for becoming overweight or obese.
Other studies have confirmed the findings that whole milk may be better for you than low-fat or skim milk!
2. Red Meat
Often avoided due to the high saturated fat content, red meat is often vilified as being an unhealthy food.
However, this could be further from the truth.
The right kind of red meat—like grass-fed red meat—may contain plenty of protein, vitamins, and minerals that could improve your health.
Plus, grass-fed lean red meat may also contain a potent type of fat—called CLA—that has been shown to boost fat loss and may reduce the risk for heart disease and diabetes.
Also, grass-fed red meat contains higher levels of the omega-3 fatty acids, which has been shown to lower inflammation, cholesterol, and reduce other associated health risks.
3. Bacon
Back in the 1950s and 1960s, bacon was an extremely popular food. But then someone came along and told everyone that bacon is bad for you and you need to avoid it.
Flash forward to recent times and bacon has once again become a popular food item (thanks to Paleo dieting).
Then someone has come out and said that bacon causes cancer. The reason for this: Some bacon products are cured in nitrates, which may lead to the development of cancer-causing molecules.
But luckily, many food processors are changing their packaging and getting rid of nitrates for curing—and using plain old sodium to preserve the bacon.
When part of a healthy diet, bacon (especially pork bacon) could give you plenty of protein, essential fats, and heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids.
So, enjoy a slice or two on your plate with breakfast for some added health benefits.
