Top Nutrition Tips For a Healthier Lifestyle

Smoothies are a great way to get in extra nutrition for people on the go.

There is, however, only one problem with them: They may be loaded with sugar and fat.

And those extra calories may lead to fat gain, or worse, they may even compromise your metabolic system.

Most commercial smoothies you can get in the store, at a fast food restaurant, or even at a specialty smoothie store, may be filled with sugar, additives, or calorie-laden foods such as cream or ice cream.

And this could be adding to your ever expanding waistline – instead of taking away from it.

The Anatomy of a Fat Burning Smoothie

In order for you to maximize your nutrition, there is a right way and a wrong way to build your smoothie.

If you put in ingredients like chocolate syrup, ice cream, whole milk, or added sugar, then chances are your shake is only going to lead to bigger fat gain.

But, if you make it the RIGHT way (in a minute I will explain how), then you may have a fat BURNING smoothie in a matter of minutes.

You see, there is a science to building the PERFECT smoothie.  And if you follow these steps, then there’s a good shot you will get that lean, sexy look you’ve been dreaming about.

So here are the steps to take:

Step #1: Eliminate Added Sugars

Many people like to add things to their smoothies in order to make them taste just a tad bit sweeter.

Things like maple syrup, honey, sugar, or even dates may increase the chance that your body will store some of your smoothie as fat.

You see, added sugar spikes your blood sugar, which in turn, spikes your insulin levels to clear that sugar from your blood.   Now, some of that sugar will go into your muscles and be used for energy or stored for later use.

But, a good majority of the leftover sugar, could be stored as fat, therefore negating any health effects you could be experiencing from your smoothie.

Sugar is a higher-glycemic food.   And this is one of the main reasons for the increase in insulin.  The higher the glycemic load, the faster your body may produce and release insulin.  Therefore, the higher chance you have to gain weight.

Lower glycemic index of the food, results in a slower release of sugar into the blood, therefore, a slower release of insulin.

This is GOOD news for your fat loss!

Step #2: Add Protein

Protein – in the form of protein powder, chia seeds, or nuts – is a great way to slow down your rate of digestion.

Plus, it supplies your muscles with the exact building blocks you need to build muscle and burn fat.

Protein also stimulates the release of hormones that help you feel full and satisfied, therefore preventing you from chasing your smoothie with some junk food.

Protein is ONE thing that you need if you are going to BOOST your fat loss.

Step #3: Choose Fruits and Veggies

In order to make a healthy smoothie, you should be loading up on the veggies and add a little bit of fruit as a sweetener.

These naturally-occurring sugars may be lower in the glycemic index, meaning they could prevent those sharp increases in blood sugar and insulin.

Plus, they are filled with inflammation-fighting vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are needed for maintaining optimal health – and boosting your fat loss.

The PERFECT Fat Burning Smoothie

Here is a great example of a fat burning smoothie that is filled with the nutrients you need to burn fat:

Protein Packed JayLab Pro Pumpkin Pie Shake

Put in a blender (or a large mug, if you use an immersion blender):

1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tbsp. pecans walnuts or almonds
1/2 c. cottage cheese
2 scoops JayLab Pro vanilla protein powder (a little more or less to your taste, depending on how sweet you like it),
3/4 cup COLD water (again, a little more or less, depending on the thickness you prefer-but regardless of thickness preference, MAKE SURE THE WATER IS COLD!).

Blend, pour into a glass, and enjoy a (seemingly) sinful taste of dessert!
(Bonus: No need to unbutton your pants after this one!)

Make Your Smoothie a FAT True Fat Burner

Many commercial smoothies are packed full of sugar, fat, and extra calories.

But, if you follow the steps from above, you can build your OWN smoothie that may help you burn loads of extra fat.

Including protein, low-glycemic fruits and vegetables, and avoiding added sugar sources could make your smoothie a fat burning masterpiece.
