Dangerous Diet News
Your doctor may have told you in the past that if you eat a high-fat diet, then this would lead you down a road to poor health.
In fact, they may have told you that if you continue to eat a high-fat diet - this may eventually lead you to being overweight - or even obese.
Now, you know that when you are overweight, things start to change in your body.
You may suffer from too much insulin - something called hyperinsulinemia - which could lead to insulin resistance...
A reduction in the activity of your pancreas cells...
And, eventually the development of Type 2 Diabetes!
Now, it’s very important to change your diet to reduce certain fats, processed sugars, processed white flour, and anything that could cause unnecessary spikes in your insulin levels.
But this model (explained above) may be outdated - thanks to new, breakthrough research!
Although the research was conducted on mice, it may present an exciting breakthrough in our understanding of Type 2 Diabetes development.
And this could directly impact your life, or that of someone you know!
The New Model
With diabetes becoming a disease of epic proportions, it is no wonder why doctors, physicians, and fitness professionals are trying desperately to reduce the current state of the nation and the world.
Diabetes can lead to blindness...
Peripheral vascular disease...
Tingling or numbness in your feet - otherwise known as neuropathy...
Altered cholesterol levels...
And increased risk for having - or even dying - from a heart attack or heart disease.
Now, some are born with diabetes (type 1) while others develop diabetes (type2) due to poor lifestyle choices, poor eating patterns, and lack of exercise.
The current model shows that a high-fat diet, followed by obesity may set the stage for the development of diabetes.
It also shows that increasing insulin levels may lead to the development of insulin resistance, therefore a slowdown or a halting of insulin secreting cells in your pancreas.
However - in a new model - it shows that a high-fat diet may actually lead to hyperinsulinemia.
And that this may lead you to becoming overweight (or obese) – therefore leading you down the path to diabetes development.
Now, according to the study, mice that were lacking a type of insulin gene - insulin 2 which is predominately made in your brain - were less likely to suffer the ill effects of becoming overweight or obese due to a high-fat diet.
Now, here is the interesting part of the study...
The subjects lacking insulin 2 - had reprogrammed fat cells which increased energy expenditure...
Reduced fat cells to normal size...
Reduced inflammation...
And reduced fatty acids spillover AND liver fat storage!
They concluded:
"We provide genetic evidence that pathological hyperinsulinemia drives diet-induced obesity and its complications."
Although this study was conducted on mice, it may provide an exciting breakthrough in the fight against Type 2 Diabetes in young children, young adults, and adults.
Protect Yourself
Although these findings are exciting, you should still take the necessary steps NOW to change your diet and lifestyle.
By reducing your intake of processed foods, high-fat diets (remember adequate levels or saturated fats are necessary for optimal health, but too much may be bad), refined sugars may help normalize your insulin levels.
You should also increase your physical activity in order to reduce and maintain normal blood sugar levels - which could lead to lower or more stable insulin levels.
By losing weight, lowering your intake of foods that boost insulin, and exercising, you may reduce your risk for complications related to being overweight.
