These Types Of FOODS Are Destroying Your Cells
Are you a person who enjoys fast food, deep fried foods, or a high-fat (not the GOOD fats either) diet?
Do you know that this type of diet, if consumed a majority of the time, may lead to changes in your body…
And by changes, I mean, BAD changes.
High-fat diets have been linked to many things, most notable weight gain and obesity.
But this same type of diet may lead to changes in your FAT CELLS that could change the way your body processes – and BURNS – fat for energy.
So really, how bad is it for you?
High Fat Diets and Inflammation
Now, researchers have already told you that high-fat diets may lead you down the road to becoming overweight or even obese.
But that’s not all…
High-fat diets may also lead to the development of chronic diseases such as insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and even Type 2 Diabetes.
One way that high-fat diets contribute to these developments, may be due to the diets ability to increase inflammation in your body.
Now, as you know, inflammation may create an environment where healthy cells start to become dysfunctional. Case in point, fat cells, when inflamed, may be unable to release fatty acids or even store fatty acids for later use.
And this may also lead to dysregulation in the fat burning hormones that your fat cells are able to produce and secrete.
Result: increased weight gain, even MORE inflammation, and potential consequences to your health.
However, although high-fat diets increase inflammation, researchers were unsure WHY it did.
Until now!
Now, as you know, when there is damage to cells from free radicals, your body sends a signal to immune cells that it needs help – which translates into healing.
Well, new research shows that your fat cells may do the exact same thing!
Here’s what the study found:
Researchers exposed adipose (fat cells) tissue to a high-fat diet.
They found that when fat cells are exposed to a high-fat diet, they may send out a stress signal – or a series of proteins – that stimulate an immune response by your body.
Those proteins – also called major histocompatibility complex II – according to this study, are normally produced and released when your body is trying to fight off a virus or infection.
However, the researchers showed – in mice cells first – that MHCII increased by TWO weeks, which caused an increase in pro-inflammatory molecules and a decrease in anti-inflammatory molecules.
And this, they suggest, caused inflammation of the fat cells, therefore posing a serious health risk.
Steps to Take
Ok, so you may be asking yourself: what do I take away from this information, well, besides the obvious!
First, high-fat diets pose a risk to your health – especially if you include them frequently throughout the week.
High-fat diets may lead to everything from becoming overweight – or obese – to the risk for chronic disease development.
Now, when you’re looking at high-fat diets, do not get confused with including good fats like omega-3 fatty acids, polyunsaturated fats, and monounsaturated fats – because those fats are extremely beneficial to your health.
What is being referenced is a diet high in deep fried foods, processed fatty foods, and trans-fat laden foods.
So, the first step would be to cut back or eliminate your intake of high-fat foods, like fried chicken, French fries, and other fried products.
Secondly, would be to include more fruits and vegetables into your diet.
This may provide your body with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that may be able to fight off the harmful effects of free radicals.
Not only that, fruits and vegetables are a great low-calorie food option that your body may use for not only energy, but for also fat burning.
If you include these TWO tips, then you may find yourself losing weight, fighting inflammation, and burning a LOT MORE fat in the days, weeks, and months to come!
