Ancient Mushroom Melts Fat From Unsuspecting Men
Mushrooms have been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine as a way to treat, heal, and protect against many different diseases and conditions.
Although Western medicine has yet to fully embrace the teachings of Eastern medicine, the use of some of the herbs, mushrooms, and teas has been more widely accepted in Western culture.
One of those mushrooms, which have been used for centuries in Eastern medicine, happens to be cordyceps sinensis.
It has a long history and, due to its potent health benefits, may continue its strong emergence as a great way to avoid excess weight gain and other adverse health conditions.
Cordyceps Sinensis and Health
The mushroom, which was classified as a Chinese medicine in 1964, has been promoted for centuries as a food source that may increase health and vitality, has anti-aging effects, and may even prevent many age-related chronic diseases.
In Chinese medicine, Cordyceps sinensis is commonly used to treat the lung and kidney meridians, therefore strengthening the body against many common symptoms including fatigue, night sweats, back pain, and many, many more.
However, when it comes to fat loss, Cordyceps sinensis may act in a roundabout way to prevent fat from accumulating in your body, and also provide heart health benefits.
Studies have shown that it may lower blood lipid levels and lipid metabolism when exposed to a high-fat, atherogenic diet.
This study showed that mice that were fed the diet, showed marked increases in serum lipids and lipid peroxide levels and aortic cholesterol levels.
However, supplementing them with Cordyceps sinensis significantly decreased serum lipid peroxide levels, depending on the dose. The higher the dose, the more effective it became.
But here is where this magical mushroom works for fat loss…
Cordyceps Sinensis and Insulin Resistance
When you’re healthy, your body systems work in unison to keep you healthy and fit.
However, when one system is victim to inflammation or damage, than many of the systems in your body suffer.
For example, when the cells in your body become resistant to insulin, then it makes it harder for the cells in your body to accept sugar as a fuel source.
And when this happens, the high-sugar levels need to go someplace.
Where do they go? Typically they go to other tissue and organs, namely the liver, kidneys, and other cells in your body.
And, when there are high levels of sugar, most of the time it ends up being stored as fat instead of being utilized as it should be – for energy.
Now, if you are able to make your cells sensitive to insulin, then chances are your cells will be able to accept sugar for fuel, therefore potentially reducing the amount of sugar that will be stored as fat.
In one study, Cordyceps sinensis was shown to decrease insulin levels by a whopping 37 percent, after just 17 days of treatment.
And, this same study showed that the treatment group increased insulin sensitivity by 10 and 17 percent in both high treatment groups.
Simply put: Supplementing with this mushroom resulted in decreased sugar and insulin levels, and an increase in the sensitivity of your cells to utilize sugar for fuel.
In another study, the treatment group significantly decreased oral glucose test results after only 10 days of treatment.
Also, this study showed that the glucose-insulin index also significantly decreased after 20 days of treatment.
Simply put: Supplementation with Cordyceps sinensis was able to increase the sensitivity to insulin, allowing for improvements in the way the mice handled and processed sugar when fed a high carbohydrate meal.
Taken together, increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin may increase the use of sugar in your body, therefore possibly preventing sugar deposits in fat, organs, and other cells in your body.
And this could lead to less weight gain and fat accumulation in the long term.
Cordyceps and You
This ancient mushroom has been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine as a way to increase health, vitality, energy, and sex drive.
Western medicine has not been as quick to discover the potent benefits of this ancient mushroom, that is, up until now,
This magical mushroom has been shown to positively alter cholesterol levels and nasty plaques that may destroy your heart health.
And, this mushroom has also been shown to increase insulin sensitivity, therefore potentially reducing the amount of sugar circulating in your blood.
And this may lead to less sugar being stored as fat, and that fat accumulating in your liver, kidneys, and other organs.
Take home message: Cordyceps Sinensis may be a potent mushroom that aids in fat loss and may possess other potent health benefits.
