Holding Onto Your Weight May Be Killing You….SLOWLY

New Years is here!

And you may have said to yourself that this is your year.

That this is the year you are going to lose weight and get in shape.

You may have bought a gym membership, a new pair of sneakers, and have gone through your cupboards and got rid of all the JUNK.

You are READY TO GO!

This is the time to make a VERY IMPORTANT change.  And you are ready.

For most people, this may be a time when resolutions come and go.

You may decide that you want to change a part of your life so you work at it.

You set aside the time and you make the effort.

You are ready to SEE THE FRUITS of your labor finally come true.

But there may be ONE thing holding you back from your weight loss.

And it may be INSIDE of you.

Sneaking up on you and making your FAT CELLS SICK.

The WORST part: chances are you DON'T EVEN KNOW that it is happening.

Obesity and High BMI

BMI can tell a lot about a person.

But not the whole story!

Having a high BMI may lead you down a path for developing Diabetes.

If you are overweight or even obese please take note.

This information may HELP with your weight loss success.

When you are overweight it may limit your fat cells ability to release hormones.

These hormones may play a CRUCIAL role in your energy levels.

One hormone tells your body when your energy is too low, so it stimulates your appetite- so you eat MORE.

The other hormone tells your brain when you are full- shutting off your need to eat more.

When you are overweight or obese, these is a blunted response which may cause you to want to EAT MORE and possibly store as much of that food energy as possible.

There is another important hormone which plays a HUGE role in glucose metabolism.

That hormone is insulin.

Insulin may have a weakened signal or your cells may have the inability to utilize it fully.

And the more overweight or obese you are the more RESISTANCE you may be to insulin.

So now your blood is FULL OF SUGAR and that sugar may have no place to go, since the sugar cannot make it into your cells.

This may be the beginning of metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome may be the first step to developing type II Diabetes.

All of this might be due to being overweight.

Being overweight may increase INFLAMMATION LEVELS that may be in your body.

This inflammation may not just cause obesity but it may lead to other chronic diseases.

Depending on how long you have been overweight or obese may INCREASE your risk for developing diabetes.

Youth Obesity and Diabetes

Researchers are discovering that the longer you are overweight or obese the more inflamed your cells may become.

And this may increase your risk for Diabetes.

It’s worse for your children.

Type II Diabetes was once considered an adult onset disease.

Go back a century and most cases of Type II diabetes affected ONLY adults.

But today, with high calorie, nutrient dense foods you may see more CHILDREN developing Type II diabetes.

In fact, the CDC has shown that 1 in every 5 children between the ages of 2 -19 are overweight or obese.

That number has TRIPLED since 1990.

So the concern is: the longer you carry excess weight it may increase your chances for developing diabetes.

And this hold true for children too.

But is there a way to curb this?

Of course there is!

Is Exercise the Cure All?

The answer to this question is NO.

Exercise is not a cure for preventing Diabetes.

But exercise may reduce your FAT LEVELS and burn a few calories.

By lowering your fat levels you may increase the secretion of GOOD HORMONES from your fat cells.

And these hormones may increase calorie burn and allow your body to process sugars, fats and proteins the correct way.

But what you may be doing right now, your resolutions, may also be helping!

Let me explain…

In order to reduce your risk factors the best advice may be to work on developing a healthier lifestyle.

Not avoiding EVERYTHING but making smarter, healthier choices may reduce your risk factors.

And quite possibly YOUR FAT STORES.

By making better food choices, starting an exercise program and dealing with stress, may be the RIGHT STEPS TO TAKE for lose weight.

With simple LIFETYLE changes you may be able to LOSE MORE WEIGHT and KEEP IT OFF!

Where To Go From Here

Holding on to extra weight for long periods of time may increase your risk for developing chronic diseases.

Being overweight or obese may inflame your fat cells blunting GOOD HORMONES from being released and possibly decreasing your body’s ability to handle insulin.

With more people diagnosed EACH DAY with Diabetes you do not want to be another statistic.

Making small changes to your lifestyle over the course of time may reduce your risk and might lead to weight LOSS and boosting your sluggish metabolism.

Exercising, changing your dietary habits, and getting plenty of exercise may reduce your weight and may improve your risk factors for chronic diseases.
