Get On The Road To Having Stronger, Healthier Knees (the bulletproof method)
By Kevin DiDonato MS, CES--Level 1 Certified Precision Nutrition and Certified Personal Trainer
How would you like the have less discomfort and pain in your knees?
Would moving be a whole heck of a lot easier if your knees would just cooperate?
There are many people around the world that are suffering from knee problems – just like you!
And there has been a significant increase in the amount of people getting knee replacements in the last 20 years – which is costing roughly FIVE BILLION per year.
But, there may be something you can do about it BEFORE it gets to the point of needing replacing…
Weight Loss and Knee Problems
Your knees are pretty important joints in your body. They help you move forwards and backwards…
And they help support your weight – no matter what weight you are.
So, you see, keeping these joints healthy would be in your best interest.
However, as the years go by – and the abuse we put ourselves through – may lead to less functioning, less mobility, and very arthritic knee joints.

This – coupled with less movement due to pain – may lead to less activity and greater weight gain.
And this leads to more stress on your joints, which compounds the knee issues. It can be a very vicious cycle.
But, if you lose just 10 percent of your overall body weight, you may save yourself some pain, time, and money in the process.
In fact, a new study shows that a loss of just 10 percent of your body weight from diet alone resulted in lower compression forces in the knee joint.
But, if you combined the diet WITH exercise for a 10 percent weight loss, you may find less pain and better function in the knees.
And the study showed that people in the diet and exercise group also increased their quality of life scores!
There’s just something about diet and exercise that just makes sense. Even the research concludes:
"Among overweight and obese adults with knee OA, after 18 months, participants in the diet + exercise and diet groups had more weight loss and greater reductions in IL-6 levels than those in the exercise group; those in the diet group had greater reductions in knee compressive force than those in the exercise group."
The Key to Better Knees
As you age, certain joints in your body may start to weaken, causing pain and discomfort.
And one of those joints most affected would be your knees.
This could lead to less mobility, more pain, and different forces that make weight bearing activities unbearable.
Luckily, though, new research shows that losing at least 10 percent of your current weight through diet could lead to less compression forces. And, losing weight with both diet and exercise may lead to less knee pain, better function in your knees, and better quality of life as you get older.
So for the health of your knees, focus on a healthy diet and well-structured exercise program to shed the weight and improve the way your body moves.
