3 UNUSUAL Fat Loss Tricks
Weight loss.
It’s a topic that is on everyone’s mind.
You see it on the news…
During commercial breaks…
Basically, everywhere you look there is a new column, article, or commercial talking about the easiest way to lose weight…
Or the BEST ways to lose weight!
Now, although they may work for SOME people, it isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
In fact, what worked for your neighbor down the road may not work for you!
But there are some COMMON things that you should be doing if you’re going to lose weight.
And it has nothing to do with the type of foods you need to eat…
Or how much exercise you need to do…
It does, however, have everything to do with holding you accountable for the choices you make when it comes to losing weight!
Three Simple Ways to Help You Lose Weight
There is a problem in this country.
And that is: everyone is looking for a quick fix – not just for weight loss – but for most everything in life.
This results in a society that relies heavily on fast solutions to common problems.
When it comes to weight loss, no matter how much you weigh, it took you some time to get there.
And, it takes that long – if not longer – to get you back to where you first started.
But, everyone is looking for the simplest approach to weight loss – in the shortest amount of time possible.
A good example of this would include the rise in gastric bypass procedures and liposuction.
But if you go about it the right way, the SLOW way, you could be way happier and more confident in the successes you have along the way.
Now, these three tips are not magical…
They are not unique…
But they are basic things that EVERYONE should be doing when looking to lose fat.
What are they?
1. Jotting Things Down
If you’re ever going to lose weight, you should be writing things down.
Not only will it help you keep track of the foods you are eating, but you can also keep track of calories, water intake, and serving size.
Plus, you can keep track of your mood and how you felt during the day. This way, if you ate too little on a certain day, you can look back and see that, and adjust so you don’t have the same feelings at another time.
Writing things down may be one of the most empowering ways to keep track of your weight loss.
2. Cut Back
For some people embarking on a weight loss program, they may be all set to count calories, weigh foods out, and make sure the servings are appropriate.
However, this may get old - FAST!
Making sure you’re keeping to your calories may be too frustrating or overwhelming, leading to someone falling off the weight-loss bandwagon.
The easiest thing to do is portion out your plate!
Some helpful tips for doing this: 1/3 of your plate should be protein, 1/3 of your plate should be a complex carb (think sweet potato or brown rice, etc.), and the last third should be colored with fruits and vegetables.
This will ensure you are getting the right foods, right servings of the foods, and the right fat burning combinations to help keep you on track and successful.
3. SLOW DOWN
I often have to tell my six year old to slow down when he eats!
If you are a fast eater, then this is going to be a challenging task to take on.
Putting your fork (or spoon) down in between bites may help you to slow down and enjoy the food you are eating.
Why does this help?
There is a time delay between food entering your stomach and your brain knowing that you have food in there.
In fact, it takes roughly 20 minutes for this whole process to happen.
By putting your fork down, you are not only allowing your brain to catch up to the contents of your stomach, but you may enjoy the taste, texture, and smell of your food.
And this may lead to greater weight loss, due to the fact that you may feel fuller, therefore you may eat less.
Simple Yet Effective Strategies
These three simple – yet effective – weight-loss strategies are not designed to magically melt fat away.
They are designed to help keep you accountable on your weight-loss journey, and provide valuable insight into your mood, feelings, and eating patterns.
That, along with a sound diet and exercise program, should keep you on track to burn more fat, energize your body, and look great while doing it!
