Ladies: Power Up Your Nutrition With These THREE Foods
Ladies, the other day you may have read the article, Guys: Five Foods You Must Eat, which highlighted five essential foods that men must eat every day for better health.
Well today, ladies, this article is for you.
As you age, you may be at a higher risk for developing certain cancers, diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease, and others.
However, if you maintain a proper diet and exercise program, you could prevent many of these disorders from occurring.
The facts, well, they speak for themselves.
A diet rich in fiber, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and essential fatty acids have been shown to reduce many of the risk factors for some very serious, and often deadly, diseases.
Plus, including exercise can further reduce your risk by altering blood lipid profiles, strengthening bones and joints, and increasing muscle strength, tone, and endurance.
Taking all this into consideration, however, there are THREE FOODS that you MUST eat everyday (or try to) in order to truly reap their benefits and further improve your health.
Let me explain…
Top Three Foods You MUST Eat
There is a saying, “a moment on the lips…a lifetime on the hips!” This saying, or quote, puts into perspective the essence of weight loss (or gain).
Simply put, whatever you eat is used by your body to either promote better overall health, weight loss, and enhanced mood, or it can stimulate weight gain, depression, and overall poor health.
Before you start looking for a donut or chocolate, there is a BETTER solution to the problem.
You see, there are certain foods that you MUST eat in order to improve your overall health.
Here they are, the Top Three Foods You MUST Eat for better health:
Health Booster #1: Wild Salmon
Let’s start with the easy benefits of wild salmon. Wild salmon is abundant in omega-3s, which are essential fats, making this fish a powerhouse for nutrition.
Sure you have heard of essential fatty acids, but what good are they to your health?
Essential fatty acids, which are fats that you need to obtain through your diet, are great for lowering blood pressure, cholesterol levels, triglycerides, and may even reduce your cancer risk.
Plus, omega-3 fatty acids has also been shown to promote weight loss, which in and of itself has many health-promoting benefits.
Wild salmon also has high levels of Vitamin D, which is important for calcium absorption, maintaining appropriate blood levels of calcium, and promoting bone growth.
However, you do need to be warned. There is a BIG difference between wild salmon and farmed-raised salmon. Typically, farmed-raised salmon is lower in high-quality proteins and omega-3 fats, and could also be full of mercury and other pollutants you do not want in your body.
So opt wisely: wild salmon is the key!
Health Booster #2: Onions
Who would have thought that this bulb-shaped vegetable would be chock of nutrition?
Onions, according to some research, possess anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, plus it may even be a natural blood thinner (good for your heart).
Plus, onions are a great source of Vitamin C, fiber, folate, and potassium (just to drop a few of the more important nutrients), which are great for improving overall health.
However, those nutrients pale in comparison to the next juicy detail.
One of the biggest health concerns for women as they get older is osteoporosis (weakening of your bones), which could account for many broken bones due to falls and overall bone weakness.
Onions, however, have been shown to stop the process of bone resorption, which could decrease your risk for osteoporosis.
Bone resorption is the process where osteoclasts break down bone into different minerals, which results in a transfer of calcium to the blood and plasma. This process could lead to bone weakening and increased risk for osteoporosis.
Health Booster #3: Beans
Beans are truly one of the most magical items that you can find.
These small powerhouses pack almost a day’s worth of fiber (15 grams) in one cooked cup.
Plus, they are a great source of protein, folate, magnesium, tryptophan, and other nutrients, that you would be making a huge mistake if you didn’t indulge in these weekly.
Fiber-rich beans may suppress your appetite (feeling of fullness), reduce your cholesterol, and improve your digestive system (slow absorption of nutrients), which makes them very attractive to weight-loss consumers.
Beans also contain tryptophan, which is an amino acid that has been linked to increased brain levels of serotonin, which is a powerful mood-enhancing neurotransmitter.
This could improve your mood, regulate your appetite, and could even improve your ability to sleep.
Improve Your Nutrition
Ladies, in order to improve your overall health in the years to come, you need to include a proper diet plan and an exercise program.
However, you should also aim to include these three food staples into your diet in order to improve heart and overall health, as well as boosting your metabolism and weight loss in the process.
This could make your leaner and sexier in no time at all.
